Plot synopsis[]
Ann is charmed on a visit to Paul's salon whereas Martin is merely baffled by his jokes. At the residents' meeting Paul's suggestion that the motor club tries another venue for its annual dinner is welcomed by the other residents, much to Martin's annoyance, and worse Paul is chosen to replace Martin as chair of several committees. Ann hopes that Martin's having more leisure time will afford them both a better social life but Martin gradually claws back some of his responsibilities and it is Paul who takes Ann to a concert at the Festival Hall.
